On May 15, 2007, The Buicks filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against World Savings Bank, FSB. The Buicks charge defendant World Savings Bank with violation of the Truth in Lending Act by failing to honor a valid rescission request and violations of California state consumer protection laws. The Buicks' right to rescind their World Savings mortgage arose when the Buicks were provided defective Notice of Right to Cancel forms. The Buicksalso allege that World Savings violated California law by engaging in a bait and switch by baiting plaintiffs into the mortgage transaction by offering a relatively favorable set of terms and then switching to less favorable terms at the closing.The complaint can be accessed by clicking on:
