On December 5, 2007, Susan Ferrara and seven other plaintiffs filed a complaint against Ameriquest Mortgage Company in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  Plainitffs charge defendants Ameriquest Mortgage Company with violations of the Truth in Lending Act and violations of various states' consumer protection laws.  Plaintiffs' right to rescind their Ameriquest mortgage arose when the plaintiffs were provided defective Notice of Right to Cancel forms.  Also plaintiffs allege that Ameriquest violated various state's consumer protection laws by engaging in a bait and switch  by offering a relatively favorable set of terms and then switching to less favorable terms at the closing.
